Lori’s first step into the beautiful world of soap began with her search for a natural alternative to big-brand hand and body soaps.
After taking a part-time role in a local soap store, she found herself captivated by the creative art of fragrance blending, and the delicate process of crafting soap with essential oils.
This fascination led Lori to embark on a journey of soap-making, taking classes and learning from her peers at every opportunity.
From the first moment she crafted her first bar of soap using her own personal essential oils recipe, she knew she was onto something wonderful.
Lori experienced the power and potential of essential oils and fragrance
Fast-forward six months, and Lori opened her very first store in Hale’iwa featuring her debut ‘Power Bar’ soap – and she has never looked back!
A North Shore local for the past 25 years, Lori infuses her creations with the spirit of Hawai’i fragrance, and her deep belief in the healing powers of essential oils.
Each one of her soap bars is lovingly hand-crafted in her store with the sole intention of nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of her customers. Her products contain all-natural essential oils and premium island fragrances, designed to cleanse, nourish and uplift.
Lori’s commitment to natural products stretches beyond her craft. She’s a passionate advocate for the environment, championing the mantra of ‘reduce, reuse, and recycle’. You’ll often find her at dawn, collecting spectacular sunrise shells and tidying up the pristine North Shore beaches she calls home.
When she’s not immersed in soap-making or environmental activism, Lori nurtures her other passions: growing and harvesting her home-grown vegetables, perusing vintage stores and making her Hawaiian shell jewelry creations – which you can find in her store and online.
And keep an eye out for an extra touch of artistic brilliance – Lori’s creative genes run strong in her talented son, Levin, and he adds his unique flair to our store.
